Sunday Brunch – 11/14/2010

It’s been awhile since I’ve done a Sunday Brunch post, not since this blog was titled Only On Sunday. Looking back over this whole blog experience, and life in general, it’s weird how things have evolved over time.

Resurrecting Sunday Brunch is, I’ll admit, a bit of a cop-out. I’m nearing the finish line on Meter Maids Eat Their Young and have been so immersed in that along with the continuous, and too often arduous, task of promotion for Stealing The Marbles, I haven’t had much time to come up with a decent post idea nor to pursue the Author Interview/Guest Blogger series I have planned for this site.

So, without further ado, tidbits.

Got a great plug on Elginism’s site. Love that word, love the site. I sincerely hope this leads to further Greek exposure for the book. If you’re at all interested or curious about the return of artifacts to their rightful owners, do check out the rest of the site there.

Suspense Magazine reviewed Stealing The Marbles. The review will appear in their print edition and online edition in January. In the mean time, you can read it HERE.

Randy Susan Myers, author of The Murderer’s Daughters, has a great post about book review equality over at HuffPo. Not being of the female persuasion, you might wonder why I care about this. Well, for one thing, I intensely dislike inequality in most everything and, for another, as an author with a small press, I find that reviews by the major reviewers are all but impossible to obtain which, if you think about it, is inequality of a different sort and, IMHO, a disservice to the readers as there are a good many fine books being published by small presses.
