Well, after a small hiatus to accommodate the Winter Blues, I’m back on “[tag]Meter Maids Eat Their Young[/tag]”.
Before I get to that, though, I have to say that being here in Albuquerque, NM, where the sun always shines, has made this the shortest Winter Blues period I’ve ever had. Used to be I’d start slipping and sliding midway through September and not be able to get off my ass until mid April. Hate those cold, cloudy days. This year? Mid December I could just feel the ragged edge of depression and here it is, late January, and I’m already coming out of it. SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) is a bitch but it can be beat. The link is to Wikipedia, a great source of information on most anything. If the Winter Blues get you down and you think you may be suffering from SAD, you might want to check it out.
Anyway, I’m back with Teller and company on “Meter Maids”. There’s a link up there, and on my website, to an excerpt should you care to check it out.
Spent a couple of days reading what I’ve already written, trying to get back into the flow and mood of the story. There is a nice feeling to getting away from a story for awhile and then, when you go back to it, finding that you actually like what you’ve written. That’s how I’m feeling about MM right now; really good.
It’s about 3/4 finished and I figure another 30 days will do it. Sit on it for a month after that, let my agent tear through it, and then it’s on to final edits. Hopefully this newest baby of mine will be making the rounds by spring.
